As 2024 draws to a close, we reflect on a year marked by significant achievements and milestones.
In our latest blog we present a month-by-month overview of our journey through 2024:
January: Raycott Planning Approval
We commenced the year with the successful planning approval for the Raycott project. This milestone set the stage for an exciting residential development, aligning with our commitment to creating exceptional design.
March: Best of Houzz Service Award
In March, we were honoured with the Best of Houzz Service award for 2024. This recognition reflects our dedication to client satisfaction and creating excellence in residential design.
May: Completion of The Spinney
May saw the completion of The Spinney project, where we transformed an underused loft space above a garage into a self-contained apartment. This project exemplifies our ability to reimagine spaces to enhance functionality and aesthetics, and as we discuss later wins us an SBID Global Award for ‘Residential Apartment under £1M’.
June: Longhouse Farm Completion
In June, we celebrated the completion of Longhouse Farm, a project that showcases our expertise in blending traditional architecture with modern living requirements.
Longhouse Farm, a large family home in Cheshire, had been extended over the years, but without much consideration to the flow of the house and the connection with the beautiful gardens.
We completely refurbished the ground floor which included creating a better entrance hall, moving the kitchen to the side of the house to enable direct access onto the garden and completely renovating the ground floor living spaces.
July: Mentoring Future Architects
July was dedicated to nurturing future talent, as we welcomed numerous work experience students into our studio.
Providing hands-on experience and mentorship, we aimed to inspire the next generation of architects.
August: Grosvenor Close Planning Approval
August brought the planning approval for Grosvenor Close, paving the way for another exciting residential project.
This approval emphasises our proficiency in navigating planning processes to achieve client objectives.
We were appointed to transform our client’s home in Wilmslow, acknowledging the existing style and form of the house, but opening it up to create a contemporary home with enhanced flow and open plan living to the rear.
Planning approval was achieved within 8 weeks and we are looking forward to starting the build phase early 2025!
October: Academic Achievement
In October, we celebrated Catriona Butters' success in passing her Part III exams, marking her qualification as a registered architect. Her achievement adds to the depth of expertise within our team and we’ll be sharing more on Catriona’s success in future blogs.
November: SBID Award for The Spinney
November was a highlight, as The Spinney project received the SBID Award in the CGI and Visualisation category. This accolade recognises our commitment to excellence in design and innovation.
Our directors Edwina and Emma had an amazing day in London at the SBID Awards, SBID® - Society of British & International Interior Design, and we are thrilled to win the Global Award for ‘Residential Apartment under £1M’ for our Cheshire Annex project!
Kimble Roden would like to thank our clients for this amazing opportunity to design such a special space! As well as the contractors and suppliers who were involved in the project. Lyme Design and Build Limited were the main contractors, Jan Dickov Interiors for the furniture and accessories, bespoke joinery by Jade Shopfitting Joinery and the kitchen was supplied by Siematic UK, via Julie Otulakowski at Art House Interiors.
As we reflect on 2024, we're grateful for the opportunities to create exceptional residential designs and for the trust our clients place in us.
We can’t wait to do more of it in 2025.
