The Kimble Roden team celebrated with other architects and construction professionals from across the Greater Manchester area at the annual MSA Design Awards this week.
This year’s awards were held in Manchester’s Science and Industry Museum, which provided a dynamic backdrop to the variety of talented projects. Held annually since 1995, the awards give a chance to present buildings that have made a positive impact on the built environment. A fantastic showcase of the architectural profession exhibited in built and un-built award categories.
Kimble Roden were finalists in the Multiple Residential (un-built) category with our Hall Wood Forest project. There were 15 other projects within the category and Hall Wood Forest made it to the top three shortlisted spot. This year’s judge was Kees Kaan, from Rotterdam-based practice KAAN Architecten, who applied his unique experience to the judging process. The Hall Wood Forest project focused on delivering 25 luxury treetop villas within the heart of a Cornish Forest reacting to the dynamic woodland valley to deliver a distinctive design on stilts.
It was great to have recognition of the work and design that went into such a complex and unusual project. The team celebrated the achievement and the work that went into obtaining planning permission for such a unique project. The project required a vast team of consultants and the collaboration between each discipline helped shape the design alongside the client’s brief.
We enjoyed catching up with old colleagues whilst meeting new faces from across the industry throughout the night.
Kimble Roden cannot wait for next year’s awards to reconnect with more of the industry and to see what new projects will be showcased.
